A Tribute!

Thanks Tim for comment- ing on our blog! It's good to know my time spent isn't wasted. I decided since you are probably the only one reading our blog I'd make a tribute to YOU! These are some of my favorite pictures of you. Share them with Trish and Rowan....

Tim, Tim he's our man
no that's not a boogie in his hand

when Rowan's around
he can be quite a clown

one look from his eye
stops car doors on the fly

he'll always have the love of family and friends
even when he's old enough to wear depends!

What exactly is LIGHT Ash Brown?

The life and money of a stay at home mom....
To save $ i decided to do my own hair color, HA! i chose the color carefully. i knew what i didn't want....no red, orange, gold. i even did a test strand. didn't work. even though i got the box that states ' minimizes red, orange and gold tones' guess what I got .?! that's right! RED! UGH! so now my $7 box will end up costing me more.....so much for saving money. until i figure out what the heck to do i guess i'll be wearing the new hat my Aunt Linda gave me for Christmas (thanks Linda!) and pouting. any contributions to the 'ugly hair fund' can be made to me and sent c/o ugly red hair lady at my address.

http://www.blogthings.com/whatsyourfunkyinnerhaircolorquiz/ my color was PINK! how appropriate!

Ahhh...It's Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone! The best part about Christmas for me is watching my children. Evie was very interested in presents for the first time this year. It wouldn't have mattered if we wrapped tupperware or toys she just enjoyed unwrapping (and singing!) Alec received the much desired Guitar Hero III and Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix (Yea! I already watched it!...I don't know who will enjoy that gift more, me or him!) Becca received a variety of 'girl' gifts including Avril Lavigne's new CD and High School Musical 2 DVD, I'm sure we'll know the lyrics to that movie in no time!
Gram Faber (Ted's mom) is with us this year for Christmas AND new years! It has been neat to have her join in on our family traditions. She made her famous cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning and lots of other yummy treats! Becca just got done giving us a encore chorus performance where Alec and Evie joined in so......
It's bedtime now and I'm sure the visions of sugar plums are replaced with visions of many days with Guitar Hero, Troy and Gabriella, and wrapping paper for the kids!
I hope your Christmas was as joyful and bright as ours!
Goodnight!

The Reason for the SEASON

Ahhhh...who doesn't love Christmas time? Baking, Christmas trees, presents, snow, hustle and bustle around town, stress, oh yeah...and the birth of Christ!
This year Ted and I decided not to be insane gift givers to our kids. Over the years Christmas has become a consumer holiday that drowns out the real reason for the season and we intend to bring back the real reason to our children. I hope other parents (religious or not) will do the same. We bought each kiddo a few special gifts and intend on talking about the REAL reason we celebrate Christmas. I can't wait to spend this holiday with my family an enjoy the love we share for each other. MERRY CHRISTMAS to our family and friends, near and far!
ps check out Ev playing in the Christmas box...she's so CUTE!

Happy Birthday Ted!

Obviously I'm a little late in posting this...But happy birthday! Ted turned 37 this year (ya old man!) The kiddos enjoyed helping him blow out the candles and eating the cake. Ev now won't let any candles in the house be lit...she goes around blowing them out. We had a quiet dinner (HA!) and dessert of what else but CHOCOLATE CAKE!
Happy Birthday TED!

What I do all day.....

Well, with craft shows done what is there for a stay-at-mom to do all day? Clean up after kids of course! At least that is what Ev thinks...i was cleaning the kitchen after breakfast one day and Ev comes into the kitchen to tell me she needed her hands washed. Well yeah! look at the mess she made! Diaper rash cream and powder ALL over the couch...she's lucky i love her. She was having so much fun I couldn't resist letting her play for a few minutes while I took pictures...ahhh kids are so fun!
Really, I do love you Alec, Becca, and Evie! You make my life worth living...I am so lucky!

Circle, Perdoozy, Wooly, and Daisylicious hit the craft shows!

My ETSY friends and I just finished our third craft show Saturday and it was our biggest yet! Unfortunately not biggest in sales but there was over 100 crafters there. It was at Sandia High where Ted teaches and Portia (Perdoozy) and I went to school there so we felt right at home. It was a bit disappointing that I didn't make my goal but I suppose it was a bit high. Of course, I had a great time and was able to chat with people and friends...that is always fun. Becca came to help near the end. She spent most of the time watching the booth across the way. The woman did henna and had a group of high school girls getting their arms done. The woman was so kind to Becca and gave us a flyer on her 'henna birthday parties.' Now guess what Becca wants to do for her birthday????
So if you like what you see in the pictures check us out on ETSY!

Ted and the Pecos!

Ted took a solo vacation last weekend...backpacking in the Pecos. So yes I was a little jealous, okay maybe real jealous but I was glad he got to go and breathe some fresh air. And of course he got a tad off the trail he meant to take...are you surprised? I was glad he made it home though. Evie and I had not been without him since she was born! I couldn't imagine taking Ev on a trip like that yet but we hope to soon. We would like to get back into backpacking far into the woods again and you just can't compare it to car camping. He did pretty well taking some photos of himself, the view, and his campsite.

Lions and tigers and bears...oh my!

Evie and I spent some time at the zoo on Friday. She has gotten old enough to enjoy the animals and be amazed at their size. We fed the ducks, admired the peacocks feathers, and stood on one leg like flamingos! What fun! Evie has really gotten into wearing her glasses like Mom and Becca so now whenever she sees them she puts them on. She wore them on the way to the zoo and most of the time there. She looks so cute! We had a great time! We can't wait to go back!

trick or TREAT!

What a treat Halloween was! The kids were so cute in their costumes. Alec was a yucky dead doctor...Becca a spider witch...and Evie was a bumble bee (although we had a hard time getting the costume on her.) Evie and I joined Becca for her costume parade at school. Evie was proud to hold Becca's hand and prance around the playground (stay tuned for pictures.) In the evening Alec, Becca and Kassie (our neighbor) went door to door trick or treating...thank goodness we had no tricks!
Now that Halloween is over we just have to deal with the candy! Ted and I don't mind helping with that part! The kids sure hate the 'one a day' rule but don't seem to be as interested in eating it all right away.

Time

Okay, this is my first blog post! I can't believe I am doing this...like I have so much time with these kiddos around.
I am so busy getting ready for a craft fair I am doing at Alec's school on Saturday that I really have had no time for anything else.
Here is a picture of what I am selling. Or you can check out my ETSY store at
